There are several reasons to opt for a laptop Computer instead of a desktop computer.

However, one of the main advantages that make it the best option for most people (especially working class individuals and students) is its mobility, while offering similar performance of a PC. You can take it anywhere and do what you want with it, from playing video games to showing an important presentation at work. Unfortunately, there is a trap, and that is the nature of a laptop being a single unit.

One of the most important examples, which is our main focus here, are screen problems. It is not the same when it comes to a PC where you can easily buy a new monitor to replace the broken one. If you have a tight budget and want to solve the problem yourself, here are problems with the laptopĀ  screen that you can solve.

Defective Motherboard / Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)

There is a great chance that your laptop problem may be inside the motherboard or GPU The best option you have is to take your laptop to a repair center and let the No display screen

Let’s start with one of the most common problems of the laptop screen: no screen or blank screen. There are many reasons behind this problem. Fortunately, there are also many troubleshooting procedures that you can try that can probably solve it.

First, you must confirm that when you turn on your device, it turns on as usual: the power icon lights, the HDD (hard disk) is running and the fan is rotating. That is to make sure that what you are experiencing is really a “no display” screen problem. There are two main causes: the motherboard has defective hardware parts or the LCD or LED display is broken. Either is what is causing the problem, and knowing what the key is to solve it.

Step 1 – Screen Verification

First, start checking the screen if it really is the one causing the problem. You can do this by connecting your laptop to an external display: a computer monitor or a smart TV works fine. Turn your device back on, if it shows a startup on the external display, then it is guaranteed that the screen of your laptop is, in fact, the problem.

Having a defective LED or LCD is an easy repair, but you must first check if your laptop is still under warranty. If it is still under warranty, go directly to the nearest repair center and do not attempt to repair it yourself. If not, you can go to a computer parts supplier or, even better, to the certified parts distributor of the laptop manufacturer and buy a replacement screen. We suggest you bring your laptop with you to get the exact replacement of the screen and eliminate the risk of getting the wrong one.

Before continuing and replacing the part yourself, keep in mind that you are doing it at your own risk and that we are not responsible for any damage, injury or loss of data during the process. Steps to replace the defective screen:

  • Turn off your computer
  • Remove the power supply and battery.
  • Examine the screen bezel and locate all screws.
  • Unscrew and gently remove the bezel
  • Remove the dysfunctional screen
  • Install replacement
  • Replace the battery and power supply.
  • Test and turn on your laptop: first do it before putting the bezel back in place if it still does not work (although the chances are quite slim, the replacement itself could be defective)
  • Return everything to its place

Once you can see your computer booting up and the screen now works correctly, the repair is complete. It is not a difficult solution, but it requires patience and time to run correctly.

Step 2 – BIOS Verification

As mentioned earlier, if it still does not work after connecting your laptop to an external display, we proceed to the second step. In this step, we will check the BIOS of your device (basic input / output system).

For some reason, a computer system can go crazy even if things run smoothly. A quick and direct solution is to reset your BIOS. Here’s how to do it:

  • Turn off your laptop Canberra
  • Unplug and remove the battery.
  • Press the power button for approximately 30 seconds to drain your CMOS battery (complementary metal oxide semiconductor)
  • Plug in the power cord without inserting the battery.
  • Turn on your laptop Canberra

This process should reset your laptop BIOS, and if that were the only problem, your computer should work without any problems. Then you can reinsert the battery. However, if your computer still shows nothing, continue with the next step.

Step 3 – Verification Of RAM In Canberra

One of the main causes, approximately 90%, of display problems on laptop and desktops is due to faulty RAM (random access memory). The problem may be as simple as having a dirty memory card, or it may be broken and needs to be replaced. Solving this problem is as easy as resetting the BIOS.

Here is how to solve a RAM problem:

  • Turn off your device
  • Remove the power supply and battery
  • Turn your laptop Canberra over and locate the RAM access cover
  • Unscrew and open the cover, and then carefully remove the chips / memory cards
  • Clean the chips / sticks: you can do it using a normal eraser and gently rubbing the gold contacts.
  • Put everything back in its place
  • Turn On Your Laptop

If your laptop has two memory slots and two chips, and if unfortunately it still does not work, you should use only one chip and one slot at a time and perform a test. To make, choose only one chip and use it in one of the slots, and then turn on your device. If that fails, use the same chip but insert it into the other slot. Again, if that still fails, use the unused chip and then perform the above steps again .professionals take care of it, or you can also buy a new unit.

Lines Or Dots On The Screen In Canberra

If your laptop Canberra’s LCD or LED screen has some visible black dots or lines, you should first try pressing it, just enough force that will alter the screen. Most of the time, this problem is due to trapped or wedge pixels. Applying pressure on it will generally loosen and release the pixels, and when it takes off, the dots and lines will disappear. However, if applying pressure does not eliminate or relieve the points, then the only way to solve it is to replace the screen. Most of the time, the lines and points of the monitor are usually bearable and do not represent an obstacle to productivity or use, so, in that case, there is no need for replacement.

Dimmed Display

Another common problem is when your screen is darker than usual. First, you should make sure you set the brightness level of your laptop to the maximum. If that doesn’t work, there are two other ways you can do it yourself to solve the problem. First, you can try to close and open the lid. Most of the time, your laptop was delayed and did not follow the system protocol immediately or the cover switch got stuck. Closing and opening the lid manually solves this problem again.

If both did not work, there could be hardware problems: back light or burnt inverted or broken cable. We do not recommend that you do it manually, as it is more complicated than replacing the screen. Doing so can only destroy the circuit board (which is quite expensive) and the back light. The lamp itself contains mercury (extremely dangerous to your health) and lead glass: it is brittle and can cause static charges and electrocute it when repaired without proper tools.
